On Wednesday, April 05, 2017, the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) Greater-Accra (MGA) Regional Branch Executives paid a Courtesy Call on the Greater-Accra Regional Minister Hon. Mr. Ishmael Ashietey, his Deputy Regional Minister Hon. Madam Elizabeth Naa Kwatsoo Tetteh Sackey (MP), and Mr. R. Ernest Nyagbe, the Chief Director of the Greater-Accra Regional Coordinating Council to discuss issues concerning the Greater-Accra Region and the nation in general.

After deliberations, which lasted over 45 minutes, an agreement was reached for collaboration and partnership between the Greater-Accra Regional Coordinating Council and MUSIGA Greater-Accra Regional Branch to embark on several projects and programmes to enhance positive development in the Region. The issues discussed was based purely on coming together to build on each other’s strength as a collaborative approach to create awareness and galvanize a crusade to improve behavioural change towards personal hygiene and environmental sanitation in the Greater-Accra Region among other issues pertaining to the youth and their comportment.

The Honourable Regional Minister and his Deputy affirm their readiness to work together with MUSIGA Greater-Accra to rid the Region of filth, and ensure   cleanliness and good health, to improve productivity and promote the Greater-Accra Region as the gateway to Ghana. This, they believe will increase dramatically the level of awareness of the benefits of proper environmental sanitation and personal hygiene in the Region, as music is a medium that reaches out to more people than any other vocation.

MGA Chairman Ras Caleb reiterated that the partnership they seek will see MUSIGA Greater-Accra collaborating and working with the Accra  Metropolitan District, Ledzokuku-Krowor Municipal District, La Nkwantanang Madina District, Adenta Municipal District, Ga Central District, Ga West Municipal District, Ga East Municipal District, Ga South Municipal District, La Dade Kotopon Municipal District, Tema Metropolitan District, Ashaiman Municipal District, Kpone Katamanso District, Ningo Prampram District, Dangme East District, Dangme West District, and Ada West District respectively, under the auspices of the Greater-Accra Regional Coordinating Council. By so doing, MGA would be liaising with the Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) and their respective Metropolitan, Municipal and District Coordinating Directors (MMDCDs) in the Greater Accra Region to have a comprehensive advocacy and sensitisation programmes and projects. The delegation was led by MUSIGA Greater-Accra Regional Branch Chairman Ras Caleb Appiah-Levi accompanied by his Vice-Chairperson Ms. Elizabeth Kakra Tagoe (of the Tagoe Sisters fame), MUSIGA Greater-Accra Regional Welfare Officer Mr. Alexander Lartey Odoi; Mr. Ben Kolaan, MUSIGA National Welfare Officer and Mrs. Lydia Tagoe-Yawson (of the Tagoe Sisters fame).
