Ahead of the general elections, an atmosphere of serenity, goodwill and co-existence were exhibited as the Abbeam Institute of Technology organized a peace walk at the Domiabra environs, within the Kasoa – Obom metropolis.

The walk, which had the theme – ‘Peaceful Co-Existence Before & After the General Elections’ involved all the political parties in the Domiabra area and was led by the contesting parliamentary candidates for the area as well the Chancellor of the University, Rev. Dr. Abbeam Ampomah Danso.

After the fruitful walk through the environs, the followers and leaders of all the political parties converged at the Domiabra Park, where they (leaders) pledged their resolve to ensure and maintain peace in the municipality, especially during and after the electioneering process.

Speaking at the convergence, Rev. Abbeam Ampomah Danso, challenged the President of the country, H.E. John Dramani Mahama to preach peace and douse all forms of tension that have characterized the campaign process, leading to the elections.

“It is essential for the President and the other political leaders to assure Ghanaians of peace, especially during and after the elections. As father of the land, it is imperative that, such assurances come from him first,” he admonished.

In related news, the Abbeam Institute of Technology, as part of its efforts to uplift the living standards of the citizenry residing in the Kasoa-Obom area – made donations to a cluster of selected schools in the zone.

Large quantities of exercise books and money were donated to the Real Faith MA School, Domiabra Methodist 1 Basic School and the Danchira MA Basic School respectively.

According to the Chancellor of the Institute, the gesture is to facilitate the learning experience of the students in the area.

Mrs. Augustina Quaye, the Assistant Headmistress of the Domiabra Methodist 1 Basic School and Madam Theodora Abeka, Assistant Headmistress of the Danchira MA Basic School, expressed their profound gratitude to the Institute for the gesture.

“We were not expecting these. We are extremely grateful and we hope this gesture shown us will not be the last,” they stated.
