One important prayer anybody aspiring to get married should pray is to never find a “true love” after marriage. Let me explain to you why that is an important prayer.
I got married to my wife 2 years ago, when I was 36 years and she was 29, after courting her for 5 years. For the 7 years that we’ve been together, I thought I loved her but things are seemingly beginning to change.
10 months ago, the bank I work with transferred me from Ilorin to work at our main branch on Lagos’ Island so my wife and I had to relocate to Lagos.
During the first week of my resumption in my new environment, I met this amazingly sweet colleague of mine. I fell in love with her at first sight. Because of the fact that I’m a married man, I tried avoiding her so that I wouldn’t fall deeper but it was not possible. She is everything I have ever wanted my wife to be. She has all the qualities I wanted in a woman before I got married to her. EVERY SINGLE QUALITY! Extra beautiful, intelligent, reserved, funny, God-fearing, amazing cook, name it! But my wife has just few of these qualities. My wife is beautiful and she cooks well but she is boring. You’re probably wondering why I got married to her in the first place. I put the blame on my mother who was constantly pestering me to get a wife because she wanted a grandchild in time. Isn’t life so unfair? I mean I dated my wife for 5 GOOD YEARS just in case I find some one who really matches all I want in a potential wife. I didn’t rush into marriage. Or did I?
The past 8 months that I’ve been closely hanging out with my new found love has been nothing but really amazing. We’ve not been intimate, at least, not yet but I fear it might happen soon.
My wife hasn’t done anything so I’ve seen no tangible reason to file a divorce but I really love my new colleague and I want to spend the rest of my life with her.
I’m so confused right now. What should I do? What?
